COVID-19 PANDEMIC – WHAT BIAFRANS SHOULD AND MUST DO TO REMAIN SAFE.

In the face of this terrible global pandemic ravaging nations and bringing global economy to a standstill, Biafra Government in Exile would like all Biafrans at home and in Diaspora to remain calm and follow official guideline wherever they are.

In the mist of misinformation in social media, we strongly advise you to go to World Health Organisation’s website and official government websites for credible information in relation to what to do.

The three key things you MUST do immediately, in line with official guideline are.

1. Stay at home. Do not leave you house except to buy food, medicine or medical appointment

2. Wash your hands regularly, with soap for 20 seconds

3. Observe social distancing i.e. 2 meters away from other people outside your household

The symptoms are fever and persistent dry cough. If you have any of these, you Must self isolate to avoid infesting others.

These are very difficult times, but with discipline, patience and determination, as well as following the guidelines, we shall overcome.

As Biafrans our faith and hope in God Almighty should be redoubled at this challenging time, for God will not leave us or forsake us. The God that keeps us does not slumber and He does not sleep.

May God bless and protect us all and may God bless Biafra.

ON SECURITY SITUATION IN BIAFRALAND.

Now that we have some idea of what transpired between the fifteen-man delegation of the Nigerian Security Forces and five Governors of the South East, and the stand of Ohaneze and the ADF we can make meaningful contribution to the discussion. Because of the gravity and urgency of the situation, I suggest that we take as little time as possible to articulate our thoughts and marshal comprehensive and convincing argument to support them and then publicize this as widely as possible. Here are my thoughts on the subject.

1. In light of the deplorable security situation all over the Eastern Region in the past few years, aware of the fact that Fulani cattle herders and other men and women of Fulani descent have been given permission by the Nigeria police, army, and other security agencies to carry automatic assault rifles, usually AK47’s as they invade our communities in large numbers while our people have been disarmed by the same Nigerian security agents and forbidden to carry or own any weapons for their self-defense, talking about Community policing supervised by the same Nigerian security agents as the primary means of ensuring the safety and security of our people is completely antithetical to ensuring the safety and security of our people and is tantamount to surrendering the collective security and safety of our peoples, properties, and lives to those whose declared goal is to conquer, eliminate, subjugate, enslave, and destroy our people, culture, and civilization.

2. The thought of coordinating the security infrastructure of the peoples of Biafra with the security agents of Nigeria is not only nonsensical, it is outright crazy. Involving the Nigerian security agents in Biafra’s umbrella security network is like asking the fox to guard your hen house. You might as well ask a notorious robber to guard your home as you go on vacation. It makes no sense. Have you ever wondered why the top leadership of every single Nigerian security organization from the army, navy, air force, police, immigration, customs, dss, down to the federal road safety, etc is a Northerner and usually a Fulani Moslem? Why and what are the implications of this for the safety and security of our people’s lives and property. This situation has never existed in Nigeria before. Why now?

3. Organizing Biafra’s primary national security infrastructure on community basis is counter intuitive to the whole idea of NATIONAL SECURYTY, a security umbrella designed to provide safety and security to all the peoples living within the confines of our boarders and the jurisdiction of that security arrangement. A community based approach as the primary security design undermines the principles of overall command and control, planning, execution, intelligence gathering, effective coordination of national defense and other factors all of which are extremely necessary for ensuring effective security for the entire network of towns, cities, communities, and hamlets in our territory.

4. Community policing is necessary. However, it is secondary only to national security infrastructure. It is the second tier security arrangement that enables each community, town, city, hamlet to keep a close security eye on the minute to minute security situation in the community and as the situation requires to share that information with the personnel manning the primary national security infrastructure. Since the national security personnel cannot be in every village every minute, community policing deals with minor security challenges in the community and also guarantees effective grassroots collection of intelligence and sharing of such intelligence with the national security network thus filling the void created by the enormity of the task at the national security arrangement.

5. Speaking of territorial security, have you ever wondered why since 1966 the rulers of Nigeria have spent enormous resources sowing discord and mistrust between the Igbo and their neighbors (Ijaw, Ibibio, Efik, Ogoja, Esan, Isoko, Urhobo, Itsekiri, etc)? Have you ever wondered why the Nigerian oligarchs that have ruled Nigeria since 1966 spent enormous resources to slice off parts of Igboland and stick them in the discordant states they created? Throughout these years these nation states in the Eastern Region have engaged in mutual immolation of one another. As a result, they have weakened themselves and their neighbors and ignored the real threat to their existence – the Fulani Oligarchy. As they attacked, destroyed, and weakened each other the Oligarchy watched and waited for the right time to strike. Now they are ready to pounce. Unless all these nationality groups in the East come together IMMEDIATELY, design and implement a collective defense infrastructure that will involve all of them, they will be picked one at a time like ripe mangoes by the Fulani Oligarchy. Every ethnic nationality in the East (Efik, Ibibio, Ijaw, Ogoja, Esan, Isoko, Urhobo, Itsekiri, etc) must realize and accept the reality that the safety, and security of each is intricately tied in to that of its neighbor whether they call themselves Nigerians or Biafrans. Whatever happens to one will definitely happen to the others. Similarly, those Igbo communities that have been sliced off and arbitrarily shoved into states that got branded as non-Igbo must realize that the Caliphate did that for a reason – to weaken both sides by creating a chasm of distrust between brothers. Some leaders in some of these communities were even bribed to renounce their Igbo identity and cook up some imaginary new identity. Whether you are in Rivers, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River, Kogi, or Benue, you must accept the reality that your safety and security as an Igbo is intricately tied to that of your Igbo brothers and sisters. Therefore, Igbo leaders everywhere must now establish a clearinghouse for all their leaders to meet and work on an overarching security infrastructure that will guarantee safety and security for Igboland and in collaboration with other nations in the East.

6. The acquiescence of SE governors to the proposal by Nigerian security agents that community policing supervised by the same agents be our primary security architecture when the same agents have disarmed our people while empowering Fulani cattle herders to roam our towns, cities and villages slinging assault automatic weapons is outrageous. Slavishly accepting a proposal that totally compromises the safety and security of our people is perfidious and a betrayal of our people. Igbo leaders of every ilk must realize that the peoples of Biafra are severely allergic to dictatorship and will resist it with the last drop of their blood. The right to protest injustice is in the DNA of our people and will manifest itself every time they are subjected to gross injustice. In Biafra a leader is not seen as a ruler but the servant of the people. He or she governs because the people have surrendered their mandate to him and given him authority to lead them. The moment a Biafran leader starts leading the people to perdition and mass destruction, the people withdraw the mandate they gave him, kick him to the curb and resume their march in the direction that guarantees their safety, security, and self-preservation.

7. Finally, the people of the rising sun must learn from history or be condemned to have history repeat itself. In 1966, the Fulani oligarchy planned and orchestrated all over Northern Nigeria the mass slaughter of one hundred thousand (100,000) people of Eastern Nigeria origin. They killed men, women, children. They even eviscerated pregnant women and killed their unborn babies. They killed everybody they thought came from Eastern Nigeria – Efik, Ibibio, Ogoni, Ijaw, Ogoja, Igbo, etc. They killed them simply because they were progressive. When the killing of Easterners spilled over into Western Nigeria and Lagos, the first Easterner killed in Lagos was not Igbo. Between 1966 and 2014 the killing of our people by the Fulani oligarchy was largely restricted to Northern Nigeria. From 2015, the killing of our people by the Fulani oligarchy has shifted to our farms, streams, markets, highways, bushes, forests, schools, churches, located in our homeland. And yes, now it is happening in our homes. What do you need to realize that this is now an emergency, “code red” for our people and that we don’t have the luxury of time.  We are in serious danger of extermination and require immediate national security infrastructure that is not compromised by injecting the same Nigeria security agents that are facilitating the destruction of our people, property, culture, and civilization. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Do something sensible NOW!

To all Biafrans in the homeland and in diaspora

There comes a time in the life of a people when their physical survival, dignity, fundamental human rights, and indeed the very essence of their being endowed on them by their creator and guaranteed under natural and international laws supersede all temporary comfort, and demand unreserved and unmitigated action in defence of these God-given rights. For the peoples of Biafra, that time is now.

Whereas we, the peoples and Nation of Biafra and their land and property find ourselves under physical, economic, political, sociological, and psychological subjugation by the State of Nigeria since 1967; a “state of occupation” of Biafra by Nigeria has existed and continues to exist unabated. Unwilling to continue to live under such stifling servitude while suffering such indignities as are inappropriate for human beings, the people of the Federation of Biafra are determined to exercise their natural and legal rights to Freedom and Liberty.

In reaffirming Liberty and Freedom for Biafra, the Peoples and Nation of Biafra make neither war, nor peace with the State or peoples of Nigeria. Rather we exercise a Natural right, a political right and a right supported by the United Nations Organization Charter and international laws – the right of Self-Determination.

The peoples of Biafra are taking this action in certain realization that only the effective exercise of Self- Determination will end this state of occupation, subjugation, persecution by Nigeria; and prevent this looming  danger of a second genocide against Biafrans by terrorist Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen and Boko Haram, both backed by Nigerian Federal Government led by Muhammed Buhari.

The time has come for us to take bold steps towards freedom, self-preservation and nation building. Every background work we are doing now must be geared towards building a critical mass that will bring us to a decisive moment, our big and defining moment in time in our history.

Building or restoring a Nation or indeed creating a new Nation is a profound and divine task. The sacrifices that are made in the process will, most certainly, remain indelible in time.

I understand the dilemma those in diaspora inexplicably find themselves in, being in foreign lands; daily craving for the opportunity to return home to a peaceful, prosperous, safe and joyful Nation we can truly call our own. A home we can sing about, a home we can defend, a home we can fight and compete for with pride, in all human endeavour. A home we can pass on to generations to come, as we ride into the horizon with smile of mission accomplished.

Biafra Government in Exile (BGIE) is committed to this hope for All Biafrans, from Ijaw to Urobo, Igbo to Ikwere, Anioma to Idoma, Igala, Igbanke, Anang, Efik and many others, BGIE brings “hope that is no longer a passion for the possible, but a passion for the promise”. We must therefore cease the moment.

I believe that all the efforts we are making at various levels and in our various groups; making our voices heard, risking our lives agitating opening, sitting at home in protest, remembering those who paid the ultimate price, creating atmosphere for effective coalition, creating structures and institutions that will endure, reviving diplomatic friendships and above all, believing that “Freedom of choice is a universal  principle to which there should be no exception”.

I can see a clear path to freedom, but we must first forge a common front that will deliver effective impact and place the world on notice that the Republic of Biafra is being reborn and will be reborn come what may.

Let not your hearts be troubled, for the enemies we see today, we shall see them no more, only be united, courageous and have total faith in God and in our ability to succeed in whatever we put our joint efforts into; For “I have a dream that this Nation of Biafra will arise, and truly live according to it’s creed, that all are equal in their maker’s eyes, and none shall suffer through another’s greed”.

We have come to that point when we must, like Sir Winston Churchill, say, ‘We have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat’, and we must do so with great sense of unity, belief and purpose. Let the greater purpose always rise above individual purpose and let us put aside dividing walls and face the real enemy who is determined to annihilate us.

There are great nations in Biafra, who without any shadow of double, will flourish within a true federation as encapsulated in Biafra Charter, able to control their resources and free to keep their people safe and pursue true development and wellbeing of all.

We must, like our heroes past, fight together; Igbo, Ijaw, Efik, Ibibio, Anang, Igbanke, Urobo, Ogoja, Ikwere, Anang and others , to defeat the enemy and then build a truly free nation where all peoples are free to choose what they want to do and dream freely without fear. “We are the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in Africa”, that city set on a hill which cannot be hidden. So let us rise and shine, it is about time.

God bless you all and may God bless the Republic of Biafra.

Going Home

I am happy to write this first article on the PM’s corner of the BGIE website. I am very excited about the title ‘Going Home’.

The reason for this title is because of my unwavering belief in the restoration of the sovereign state of Biafra and my conviction that one day, not very long, our nation will once again be an independent, free and prosperous nation which majority, if not all of us have been yearning for.

When that day comes, I believe that the inaugural speech by the leader the people shall elect will start with the words ‘We’re Going Home and Welcome Home’.

In the words of Dr Martin Luther King Jr ‘I have a dream that one day Biafra shall be a free, independent nation’ with her boarders secured and her people safe and secure in the land which the Lord our God gave us.

However, at this present moment in time, duty calls. Duty calls for all Biafrans in and outside our home land to rally for the final push to freedom, as we leave behind wasted years of suffering, unproductivity, marginalisation, hatred, nepotism, victimisation and for millions death, in the hands of regressive and oppressive leadership of the artificial state of Nigeria; Created by the British colonial powers for the benefit of the British and their minority Fulani friends.

I am mindful to keep this first corner short, so I close by re-emphasising that Biafrans have that inalienable right to self-determination as enshrined in the United Nations Charter. The right to choose where they want to belong politically, to associate freely and to worship freely without fear of harassment and attack.

The British people exercised that right in a referendum to exit the European Union in 2016, the Scottish people also in an Independent referendum in 2014. As Britain negotiated terms of their exit from the EU the issue of Gibraltar was discussed with Spain. British representative for Gibraltar emphasised that the people of Gibraltar have the right to decided where they want to belong, either remain British Territory or switch to a Spanish one.

In the same vain as the people of Gibraltar, the people of Biafra also have the right to decide whether to be part of Nigeria or exit from Nigeria and be an independent, free nation.

So, all Biafrans must know that the restoration project is right, worthy and holy. Therefore we should embrace it, work for it, prepare for it and at last deliver a peaceful, productive and prosperous nation where all people control their resources, determine their economic direction and how to police and secure their local communities and provinces without undue interference from Central Administration.

So come on, arise and let’s go and restore Biafra and build a nation where all will be happy and proud
